Account Deletion

Effective date: 26 May 2026

You can delete your Aleto account from inside the Aleto app. If you cannot access your account, you can request deletion by email.

Delete your account in the Aleto app

1. Open the Aleto app.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Under Account, tap Delete account.
4. Read the deletion warning.
5. Confirm the deletion request.

Account deletion is permanent. You cannot undo it after the deletion process is completed. Some posts or public content may remain visible in anonymized form, as explained below.

Request deletion by email

If you cannot access the Aleto app, email us at privacy@aleto.video with the subject “Aleto account deletion request”.

Please include:

• The email address used for your Aleto account.
• Your Aleto username, if you know it.
• A short statement that you want your Aleto account deleted.

Verification

We may need to verify that you control the account before processing an email deletion request. If we cannot verify the request, we may ask for more information or may be unable to complete the deletion request.

What is deleted or anonymized

When your account deletion is completed, Aleto deletes or anonymizes account-related information associated with your account where supported by the deletion pipeline and where deletion is not restricted by safety, legal, moderation, backup, or abuse-prevention needs.

This may include:

• Your Aleto profile information.
• Your username reservation or active username association.
• Your account identity in Firebase Authentication.
• Your account-specific favorites, views, reactions, report flags, and related records where applicable.
• Your comments and engagement records where deletion or anonymization is supported and appropriate.
• Your notification preferences and followed-place settings where applicable.

What may remain temporarily or legally

Some records may be retained temporarily where needed for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, backup integrity, or moderation integrity.

Some posts or public content may remain visible in anonymized form after account deletion. This helps preserve public conversations, shared links, moderation context, safety records, and app functionality. Where content remains, it should no longer be linked to your active user profile.

Reports, moderation records, audit logs, rate-limit records, security records, and legal records may be retained where needed to protect users, prevent abuse, enforce rules, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes.

Processing time

In-app deletion normally starts immediately after you confirm deletion in the Aleto app.

Email deletion requests are reviewed after verification and are normally processed within 30 days, unless a longer period is required or permitted for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, backup integrity, or moderation integrity.
